Does anyone know of an app or web extension that will let me send a mass direct message to all of my followers? Preferably free. Thanks!

Not sure if there is anything available to send a message to all your followers but you may try tweetguru which may help you a bit with your twitter direct messages.

I used Social Bro, it is not free but if you are making money off your Twitter accounts it is a worthwhile investment. It gives you many options for DM'ing all followers, you can also run DM campaigns and tailor it very specifically using their software. I was paying, I believe, $39 a month. It was definitely worth it for me.

You can use Twitter API for free and develop your own software for DM's.
I use StatusBrew now, but Crowdfire is good also.

I wouldnt suggest that, users will see it as annoying and spam, some of them might even report you.

I would disagree. It all depends on what you write. If you send interesting information no-one will report.
The moment someone followed you, he agrees to receive DMs and see your tweets.

    Crowdfire.
Carefully worded direct message that stands out from the standard "hey thanks for following me check out my website" works so much better. Even if you can make it sound personalized i.e. "Thanks for connecting I really like what you are tweeting about - do you have a website you are interested in exchanging links on?"
