So I was wondering if most people design their own sites, and if so on where, or if you get someone else to do it.

I have someone else helping me, but I feel a little bad constantly asking him to do stuff for me.

The website just went live yesterday and the social media pages are live, but I really want to offer up an opt-in for a free report to start building my list...

But I am kind of clueless as to how to set that up... how to connect the opt-in to the email list... what to use for an email list etc.

I feel like I read so much on here, have the basis of what to do, but the technical knowledge of how to do it is lacking...

I wish I could just sit over someone's shoulder and watch what they are doing...

I use Yahoo Web Hosting, and and i designed my own site with it. But my site is super simple. But within the package that you get with Yahoo, they give you the option of letting one of their web designers to create a site/or make customizations for you. But for your purposes and your intent, i think you're on a better route by doing the email capture issue on your own. Aweber shows you how to do this easily.

i use getresponse to capture optins
and you have to build a relationship with your list by giving them value
