    Hi,

Urgent assistance would be appreciated. I have a website which a friend of mine set up a Wordpress theme on but I've sinced opted for the simplicity of a Joomla setup. However, once I installed it via my GoDaddy hosting I then followed an online guide which told me to copy the files in my FTP and paste them into my root, which was called HTML, but now my site has went mental and my sidebar in FTP has all those files listed. How can I scrap it and start over? Or is that what I need to be doing?

    hey...

please take a deep breath and explain the problem step by step (i'm confused).

    was it like this?
    1) you had a wp site
    2) bought hosting resources at godaddy
    3) used 1 click install to set up joomla
    4) via ftp put all your wp files in the folder public_html (or just html)

??? if yes - it is impossible to do anything like this

    ...

    (breathing)

    1) yeah - well it was installed via godaddy
    2) yeah
    3) yeah
    4) lost - i installed it and in the ftp it had files for both joomla and wp but nicely separated. I read online I needed to copy joomla files and put them in the root, I thought I had done this but all the files appeared in the side column.

make any sense? I've recently enlisted somebody to clean it up, but still not sure what I had done...
