say i was targeting a keyword phrase which people automatically see as spam, or find offensive. lets assume my kwp is 'eating babies' . i obviously couldnt use that as anchor text.

could i however split it up, using text such as 'cute babies' and 'ethnic eating', would that work to optimize my site for the keyword 'eating babies'?

using 'cute babies' and 'ethnic eating' will not help you to rank 'eating babies' words . every of them are different words

    Online Help, Poker Fun

If that is what your anchor text said then no it would not help you rank for Online Poker Fun or Online Poker Help I use this as an example because I have seen it a lot lately, I just have yet to see good results come from doing it because the bot's see the anchor text for exactly what it says.

You should use the keyword that you want to rank for.
