I am extremely new to this so I am limited in my options. Due to this I am totally dependent on Adsense right now, but the past few days I have been researching into possible affiliate programs. So it's not a question of whether I am going to diversify more than when. Unfortunately TLA's are out of the question due to my site being PR0. Which leads me on to a question; is it feasible to consider selling ads on a PR0 site if I have a significant amount of traffic? My apologies if I am hijacking the thread.
I totally agree with you on diversification. I'm about 60% Adsense at the moment but other revenue streams are catching up (especially this time of year). By diversifying did you find your Adsense revenue dropped or have you in fact just added more sources of income?
80% adsense/20% amazon affiliate at present. Mid $x,xxx pm All sites 3 months old or less, looking forward to a bit of age and PR so that I can reduce my dependence on the big G.
That's really cool you did such a job just in 2 months! I'll be very happy if I could do this in half a year.
I would like to increase it to 40% because I know this is possible by doing some optimalisation but certainly not more than that...
1st off- great post. Exactly where EVERYONE on this forum should be regarding business strategy... diversification. I do about 99% of our own-product sales, and 1% adsense. Would like to see a bit more diversity with more affiliate and more adsense...
20% adsense, 30% company salary and 50% freelancing.. as of now i just starting using affiliate programs for some of my websites. i just made $100 from CJ for only 1 month hehhehe
100% adsense for now but I plan on implementing affiliate programs, Chitika and text-link-ads.com. I would probably implement a classified-ads section also, but after I get more traffic.
Adsense % is more or less 50% as well. Thanks Jim for the breaking down of the possible earnings I could get from my websites. I have to add something to that. On our website we're actually using CJ in selling Skiing and Snowboarding gear during winter season. And Hiking,Yoga, and other websites we have. We are actually earning pretty good on it. Especially during winter season. We're also using kontera as our source of income. Other than that you've already mentioned few on where we get our income.
does anyone know how adbrite would function on a site serving myspace related traffic? I didn't want to use my Y!pn on it b/c people say it will get you banned.
Well i've read that Y! doesn't consider myspace traffic quality traffic and they will suspend an account once it become larger.
My was about 90% adsense until the recent Google indexing messup a few days ago.. Now 5% Adsense. Whilst on the subject of Diversification .... Also 'Diversifying your traffic '
5% affiliates (trying to find ways to up this - but not very successful so far: hard as it has to fit my niche AND give my money in a way that I can use: international publisher) 10% link-sales 85% adsense --- That's the online stuff. I also do webdesign and a bit of SEO, but that's far more irregular. I hope to be able to get to a point where I can stop accepting new clients and just stick to the online stuff: fits my studies better.
