Hey, What would happen if someone sends you money by Paypal, and then you send the money to someone else, and then the original sender disputes the transaction? Will the money be removed from the 3rd person's account? Or will the 2nd person end up with a negative balance? Or would something totally different happen?
Paypal always protect to the buyer so if you have not returned his money then Paypal will return to him.
PayPal will first try to hold the payment in your account but if you've already sent the money to someone else, PayPal will put your account in negative and try to recover from the third person (whom you forwarded the money). If money is still in third person's PP, PayPal will still be able to track and put hold to that payment too. just my 2 cents.
Wait so why would they put 2nd person's balance in negative, as well as holding the 3rd payment, instead of one of either?
Can you tell me why pp would try to recover from third person ? PP does not recover from third person. On what basis will it recover ?
This happened to me a year or two years back. Someone paid me, and after he got what he paid for he filed a dispute. I had already sent the money to someone else but PayPal put a hold on his funds after a few days. Not sure if this happens frequently, but it did happen to me.
Paypal.. I wish God would smite them off the face of the earth. You know, what you said makes ZERO sense but I have no doubt Paypal would do it. Now if you had sent that money to your bank, they wouldn't do it because the bank would crush them. I so wish there was another viable option other than Paypal. I don't hate many companies but hate is a good word in their case.
You can expect anything from PayPal. But there is no other viable option at the moment, even though Moneybookers and Alertpay are competitors but they don't stand a chance when compared to PayPal. PayPal is market's giant and can do literally anything and can't be sued. They don't mess with big businesses, only small time freelancers get ripped by them. I hope people start using Moneybookers and Alert Pay more often, as they are more reliable and available world wide with very decent options.
