Yes. I'm nuts. well lets see:
If one is a believer, what are the chances the he will be Muslim if his parents are muslim? hmm... 100%? and the chance that he will be Christian is...hmm... 0%? or jewish? hmmm.. 0%?
If one is a believer, what are the chances the he will be Jewish if his parents are Jewish ? hmm... 100%? and the chance that he will be Christian is...hmm... 0%? or Muslim? hmmm.. 0%?
If one is a believer, what are the chances the he will be Christian if his parents are Christian ? hmm... 100%? and the chance that he will be Jewish is...hmm... 0%? or Muslim? hmmm.. 0%?

so much for "People think for themselves"......... :D

This is perhaps the problem with most people: that they think that they think for themselves.
This is true not only in faith but in every aspect of life. I recently read this book http://www.jasonzweig.com/brainbook.html about how our instincts and primitive fears control us when we make financial decisions and at the same time think that we make decisions based on sense and logic.

So these jewish kids never had a chance to think for themselves. I hope that you did.
The minority of people who do think for themselves, these are the atheists. If that's bad news for you, I'm sorry.

Let me try this again. . .since so many want to bring in "religion", "religious", and a whole bunch of other man made feces into this discussion/debate. . .even though my initial post never once mentions either or; what "religion" was JESUS CHRIST? What about Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? What about Adam (and Eve)? Cain and Abel? Noah? What about Moses? What about Jacob/Israel's sons that were the Patriarchs of the now 12 Tribes of Israel?
Scripture declares David to be "a man after GOD'S OWN Heart" (1Samuel 13:14; Acts 13:22), yet David violated at least 6 of the 10 Commandments. . .so what "religion" was he; was David "religious"? Where in the OT would I find either word?

What about (it). Fictional characters. What about Luke Skywalker and Princes Lia?

500 years from now StarWars will be a bible and a whole new debate will happen (sigh).

What about the here and now, wwws? Was "Luke Skywalker and Princes Lia" even a figment of someone's imagination "500 years" ago?
Please don't take this the wrong way, but, how dumb/stupid/ignorant do I have to even begin to become and/or be in order to acquiesce to your chemically/drug induced mentality?
There is more proof of all that is contained in Scripture than all that is contained in all the History books written by mankind.

Here's an example: More people saw, and witnessed, THE RESURRECTED JESUS CHRIST (after they had saw/accepted HIM as being "grave yard dead"), than all the people who saw, and witnessed, the assassinated Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William McKinley, John Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and Robert Kennedy, combined.

After your god wiped out the entire population of the Earth except Noah and a few family, killing all but 2 of each animal, those poor animals, the ark set sail for 40 days and 40 night with 2 of each animal, Noah and his family. I have but 1 question; what did they do with all the shit?

How did the kangaroos and polar bears cross the ocean to get to the ark. :) Too many plot holes in the Torah (Old Testament) and the Quran. We seriously need another prophet to fill these plot holes lol... maybe God made another mistake yet again.

Just how do you calculate it? offcourse, base on the bible and the town were jesus was executed? does the bible have a population count of that town? Were there a Cencus Bureau that keeps track of it's citizen that give out an estimated count? Let say it has 50,000. Okay, 50,000 people saw jesus being executed by the Romans and so? So what if they saw an execution to a common man, happens a lot back then I'm sure of it.

Are you aware that John F Kennedy was televised nation wide and the World when he got assasinated? Wanna know the numbers of it? probably not, other famous people you noted are real people that had been documented in real time, unlike jesus. There are hardly any records of this guy name jesus outside of the bible and even in the bible there's hardly any, very little of him in it, but let say he's on every page of the bible, that still doesn't mean jack shit, because the bible, again, is fictional like StarWars.

Nehemiah, I'm sure your an old guy and was a bad person at one time, then you turn to...god and you beleve it has change your life. Just to note that you are insane! It wont be long now when you will get an Anal Cancer, what will you do when you get it? Pray to god? While you are praying to god, you at the same time wishing the doctor could cure you.

Do you have Health Insurance? I'm sure your loaded with it, church employees have nice Health plans don't they? lol Need them just incase prayers aren't answered.

Ala Mr. Miyagi (The Late great Pat Morita) from the movie, The Karate Kid, "afraid facts mixed up".
The way Scripture tells it: "the ark set sail" only after the rising flood, from rain water of "forty days and forty nights (Genesis 7:4)", pushed it upwards, above ground, during what had never happened on the earth prior: RAIN. "for 40 days and 40 night", it rained, which "wiped out the entire population of the Earth", except those that were not inside Noah's Ark. And all of this happened 120(?) years after Noah had warned all those who were "wiped out". And yes, there were "2 of each" of certain kinds of animals. . .but there was also, "every clean beast. . .by sevens, the male and his female... (Genesis 7:2)".
So you see Roman, when you don't know the whole/entire story, you can go off half cocked, and/or not cocked at all, and more often than not, eternally/everlastingly dying/dead (separating/separated).
BTW, as for, "what did they do with all the shit?"
The same thing, hopefully, that you do with yours'. . .you turd it into water in you commode, and let doo-key go wherever doo-key goes. . .after you've constipated-ly strained it out, Huh?:D
Did/Do you not know that prior to that Flood, the entire earth (dry land) was one big totally NON-separated land mass?

Who would die for a lie. . .knowing that it was a lie? At least 10 of the eleven Disciples died a martyr's death. . .rather than to renounce THE RESURRECTION of JESUS CHRIST (WHOM they all had seen/witnessed HIS Post-Resurrection Appearances). . .ergo, the Title of this Thread, which you nor any of your "at/ag" friends can do, and thanks to Corwin, not only from Scripture, but from all other/secular Historical accounts, HUH???

Do you know the difference be "assassination" and "assassinated"? Thanks to McGruder, we all saw what [was supposed to have] happened, but after Kennedy's arrival at Parkland Hospital. . .it really gets kinda foggy, huh?
Here something else you can be "sure" of: I may just do like Job did when he lost everything. . .Scripture says that homeboy, ". . .arose, and rent his mantle (tore off all of his clothes), and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshiped...(Job 1:20)". . .in other words, wwws, "Though HE slay me, yet will I trust in HIM. (Job 13:15)".

Dang, I might need to look into that; I'm a Vet. . .so I've not even considered having any other "Health Insurance"; especially since the VA took absolute 100% care of my Prostate Cancer (3 years ago). . .THANKS to my GOD!!!
BTW, Members of a [TRUE JESUS CHRIST Ordained] "church" are not "employees", they're/we're just members of THE BODY of JESUS CHRIST. So please don't confuse us TRUE members with all the counterfeits that so much so turn you off/from believing on JESUS CHRIST as SAVIOR and LORD of your life.

In all fairness, it's a rather dumb answer. Yes, parents influence their kids - in all areas of life. If your parents are english speaking, what are the odds you'll speak spanish as you grow up? 0%? If you're parents are spanish, what are the odds you'll know the art of Iaido?
If your parents are atheists, what are the chances that you'll be atheist? 100%? So much for atheists thinking for themselves :D

Yes, and atheism has got to be one of the laziest thinking man's belief system around.

It's not bad news, it's deluded news. That smug attitude of yours, that it's somehow only atheists that think for themselves is just that -delusional. Never mind, carry on your merry way. The mere fact that 98% of the world's population (give or take a few percent if you will) have also concluded that atheism is rubbish - well, don't let that get in the way of your superiourity rant. Or the fact that most developments in history were carried out by 'believers'. Or that you probably believe that dreams occur despite not being able to prove them. Oh dear. Smugness. Is that a sin? :p

Regardless, a lot of poor animals were killed and how could animals be unclean? Did god screw up?

I have yet to meet more than the odd animal that can use a toilet, generally animals poop wherever they happen to be. By my calculations Noah and his family was not enough manpower, even working 24/7, to keep up shovelling all the shit that was produced which leads me to believe that god must have helped making him the world's greatest shit shoveller in all of history.

Pangaea broke up roughly 180 million years ago.

And for the love of god, can you, just once, post a reply without quoting scripture as to those that feel the bible is just another work of fiction, it has no validity.

I call BS here as well but to humor you I will let it slide. Now can you account for the events after the flood. How did the animals get back to their respective habitats. There was no desert for the lizards because of the flood. You know so little about the world Nehemiah. I really think you should go back to school and get a good education. Bible school doesn't count.

~ Stories are not necessarily ever lies but simple renderings by their authors that even fictional accounts have credence as long as the authors collaborate a theme to an ending as surly the Christian bible is an exemplary example. But just because the scribes made a book disprovable is not to say it is any better or worse than a lie but just that it is written in such a way as to verify its content, true or not.....all societies have religions that left to fruition would more closely be interlinked spiritually than likely to have similar text.

~ Perhaps the Nehemiah would care someday to read the Garden given to us by the Almighty as an alternative to the bible and see where ever he might find Jesus Christ in the forest but through his own eyes than any one else's. Jesus is our brother, not our savior and certainly not the Creator. The goal of mankind is to return to the Garden of Eden - all or none.

Here's a "BS" thought GM: seeing as to how Noah's Ark was afloat for over an entire year (according to Scripture), just maybe he dropped everything off where it needed to dropped off. . .or there's always migration (from Mt. Ararat, one of the world's highest, if not the highest point, where the Ark came to rest.). . .and then there's importation. . .and so forth and so on.
I know as much "about the world" as you do. . .but tell me, Genuine Marketer, how much do you know about that which you're so down on. . .and so ignorant of its contents? Are you that afraid to read "The Bible", prior to going to anybody's "Bible school"?

Maybe the bible should've accounted for the continents and dropping the animals off there. The bible never states that.

~ Forget the animals, the flood was to destroy man not animals, the distant reaches were not flooded.

    ~ The bibles rendering of Noah is inaccurate - The episode was really about a Parable: Gods return the day of Judgment;

~ When either the last evil or the last good person on earth dies God will return to judge those who are remaining and either they or the last to perish will be granted their (simple) immortality - Noah would have been the last good person left on earth and with his death the Almighty was to have returned to destroy all those remaining - Rather than the prophecy being completed the Almighty returned beforehand to give man yet another chance and destroyed the renegades before Noah's death and therefore postponing the day of final Judgment. Read from the Garden of God.

~ Gworld, as an atheist your world is nothing but fantasies.

~ The Edenist parable for Gods return the day of Judgment, prophecy of Noah, at least has for us the game plan to the finish and when it will occur - The ending to mans quest will have but one church remaining, or all atheist and that congregation will be the recipients of the Final Judgment from God.
