Displaying YouTube videos on my website

I want to allow users on my site to add YouTube video links and then display these videos on their profile pages. I would also want to create a gallery page where all of the videos are showcased, but I want to display thumbnails only since the whole player is too large to be used in a gallery. However, I would have a separate page that would open the YouTube player once they click on a thumbnail in the video gallery. Is this fine with YouTube's TOS? I read it, but it is kind of vague and it seems that I can embed as many videos as I want. I am just not sure if I can use snapshots of the videos and display them as thumbnails in a gallery? Also, can I display ads on the same page where these videos are located, and in the video gallery?

If you have the copyright owners permission, then it is legal. You cant just post them though, that would be violating copyright laws.

No, I don't plan on posting their videos, the registered users will post their own videos by adding a link to which they uploaded the video on YouTube. What about advertising, can I put ads on those video pages as well like AdSense?
