Displaying WP Posrs by Category on the home page

I want to use WP more as a CMS rather than a blog. Instead of the content on the home page being listed chronologically I would like to set up sections of the home page that display maybe 3-5 posts (title only) from each category. The idea being new posts bump older ones off the list by category.

Does anybody know of any good tutorials that would cover this kind of customization?

c2c recent posts plugin will do I think.

 

Thanks, this looks like it may work. It gives you the flexibility of just calling it via adding a line of code into the home template.
