Displaying own adsense, hurt CTR?

Hello everyone. Does it hurt CTR and/or earnings by displaying my own google ads on my site. I've never bothered with disabling them because I rarely accidentally click on them. And I know google doesn't count my 'own clicks' anyways. But, it still ads impressions for everytime I view my site. Does this hurt anything? Would it benefit me from removing google ads from even showing up when it's ME logged in?

    Thanks!

If you have clicked on the ads even once, I would disable them when your are logged in. Otherwise you might find yourself being banned by Google for invalid clicks (I am amazed you haven't been banned already for clicking on your own ads.)

Google prohibits any automated software for creating ad impressions. If it is just you viewing your own pages that have ads on them, I think you are ok. If it is some automated system that loads oodles and oodles of page views that would be a problem.

No automated software. Just lots of page views, impressions, from myself. My question is really, would I earn more per click without MY impressions?

I have probably clicked my own ads 3 times in 3 years or so. None of them have been counted towards earnings.

since its your own site you may have to visit them several times a day and each visit will create as many impression as there are. But as long as you do not click on them, I dont see a problem. Any mind you, only valid clicks counts for your earnings.

Yeah i realize that. I guess I was under the impression that the "amount" earned per click was affected based on how many impressions there were. And if there were 1000 more impressions because of me, this would lower the amount of earnings per click. Is this not the case? Does the number of impressions have anything at all to do with the amount earned for a click?

The amount you get paid for each ad clicked is already predetermined by google. Increased page impressions will not devalue the amount you'll get per click IMO.

Unless you are constantly refreshing your page all day long, I don't think it would have any significant impact.

Doesn't lower CTR lower eCPM, causing lower bidding listings to display?

It would decrease your ctr as you would be getting more impressions with relativly less clicks.
But revenue would stay the same unless your getting cpm ads.

BTW why is this thread showing pr3?

I would rather block it using a competative filter. Why pay a percentage to google for clicks which you can get directly by placing a banner? Also, the chance of accidental clicks, lower CTR.. Better block it and be happy!
