Hi Friends Unfortunately the displayed URL is too long. I skipped the www. , but it is still one letter too long. Asking for an exception was rejected without any further hint, how to make it work. Any suggestion? Thanks
Register a shorter domain. 35 characters is plenty. I advise to keep your domain below 20 characters, 25 max, including the TLD and not to have more than 3 words. You want people to remember your domain. It's called branding. If it's too long, they won't remember it or mis-remember it. Keep it simple.
I haven't heard of this one before but I agree with Lucid Web Marketing and would create a domain with a shorter URL besides which experience has shown that very long URL's get lower click through rates.
I've heard of having a display URL before. Many times however, new advertisers think you need to include the full URL, not just the domain name. Understandable since Adwords uses the term URL. This might be what the OP is doing and his domain is not over 35 characters. > experience has shown that very long URL's get lower click through rates This I have not heard before. The only way to test would be to have the same ad with the different URL, triggered on the same keywords, and see. I have heard that after the title, the URL is the next thing most people look at so it is possible that a long one is a deterrent from clicking.
