Display URL Question

I got my ad up and running on Google, but the problem is I am not getting enough clicks....

The niche is not very competitive, and I am on third position. Out of 500 impressions, I am getting about 5 clicks...That's a very low CTR, isn't?

I am really sure about my ad title and description. I got my keywords in the ads, benefits, features, etc. So I don't think that there is any problem with my ad.

However, one thing that comes to my mind is that my display url ends with .info

Could that be the problem? People prefer .com domains, and if they see like .info they don't click on them that often.......

I really can't see that it would make much difference. Your average Joe searcher would have no idea what the difference is, plus, I don't think they read the ads that carefully in the few seconds it takes them to decide whether to click or not.

I have quite a few different domains and have even tested example.info vs example.biz ... I've had very mixed results. Sometimes the .biz gets the higher CTR and other times the .info gets the higher CTR.

I'd test the Ad Title and the Desc1 & Desc 2 before moving onto the display URL if the only difference is the .ext

You say you are sure about the Ad Title & Description, but I'd test test and test until your CTR is at least reasonable. Then move onto testing the display URLs. Maybe consider purchasing other domains and using those instead.

One thing I have found though - the display URL can make a significant difference to the CTR. I've tested keyword.org.uk vs example.biz/keyword and the first one has had a much higher CTR - even though the Ad Title & Descriptions were exactly the same.
Why? Maybe they feel keyword.org.uk is of more authority and will tell them more of what they want to know.

Then I can't understand what can be the reason, that I am not getting decent amount of clicks......If not the display url, which is .info then what?

It's definitely not ad description or title, because I used to have constant 3-4% CTR with those ads, but after I changed the url CTR dropped.

All I'm saying is that for me, simply changing the .ext has not had a big impact on my CTR ... changing the full URL has made a difference.

You say you used to have a constant 3-4% CTR yes? ... Are you using the ad that got that great CTR as the control?

changing the URL can make a difference, if you have the freedom to change and test new URL's do it ... it's like an extra 4th line of your ad

take these 2 URLs for instance everything else being the same

    WeightLossProduct.com

    or

    Lose-that-Weight-Now.Com

try to put a CTA in your URL it can help :)

as for as changing just the extension, i've bought a good domain but was .info and has the same effect ...
put are just not as click happy when it comes to .info for some reason ... if they're searching for information maybe so
but for a product maybe not
