    Hello,

Are Digital Point's moderators and adminitrators kind enough to fulfill display name change requests?
If so, I would greatly appreciate having mine modified to "Heymmman".
Since I've reached this 10 post count, this username would better represent me and my website in the selling section.

    Thanks.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I am also charging a fee for name changes in my own forum, unless it is asked very nicely with very good reasons, and it comes with some premium benefits, but it is $3, not an insane $25: no offenses, but for the position of few pixels in a forum and few seconds of the time of a moderator, it is extremely abusive. It is in fact abuse, in my mind, to charge $25 for a free service taking seconds to render. Abuse of people with high post count for whom's account is important and abuse of people using a nickname they wish to see disappeared from search engines and such. But... well.

Once again, thanks for the quick reply. Will stick with that no sens "b0b" - or start over the 10 posts count if I'm not unfairly banned after the above comment :)

Previously name changes were not allowed at all. The payment is to deter people from it. On a forum this size, a name change puts an unnecessary load on the servers and slows things down for everyone else until the process is complete. What appears in search engines is not our problem -- it's each member's responsibility to think before they create something up front. What is our problem is making sure the forum keeps running. That's why the policy's in place.
