Good job with the big ticket sale. That's always a ton of fun. One big one can = 100 little ones...

I found that using RSS widgets was a great way of creating a website without using either BANS or Wordpress.

here's an example on a site I use to play with - http://www.southbristol.co.uk/cars.html

and how I did it all is in this ebay rss tutorial - http://www.squidoo.com/ebay-RSS-feeds

Note that you don't even need to use PHP, though the coding will take a little longer as a result. It's Ideal if you just want to put up a niche page, or add stuff to an existing page/blog

    Nice thread.
I made a very simple site using ebay feeds, (www.changecar.co.uk) - using PHP based mainly on rss2html.
Lately I expanded the concept to build a reusable tool for amazon / ebay - using the webservice / feed etc.
Resulting sites look OK and take about 5 minutes to build. examples are www.startcollectingcoins.com and www.highschoolmusicaltrilogy.com
I am expanding into a third version that has a much more flexible look and feel

How did you do that? I've never seen anyone put RSS feeds in WP pages only in the posts.

You can also insert RSS Feeds from eBay using Joomla which is a free open source content management system. Here's a site that I built using Joomla and a couple of other features: www.r6-parts.com. Just build your site with free templates, add feeds, add a couple of articles and market it :)
