I am trying a new template design and am testing it on the localhost. While the design process has come out right, i am having some problems with the setup of the front page. Since i had installed the sample pages during the installation process, once the design work was completed, i deleted all the sample articles, categories, sections and links from both the main menu and the top menu. Added my own links for the menus and kept the main menu hidden in a module that i had no use of. For the front page "Home", link in the main menu, i assigned Leading 0, Intro 6, Columns 1 and Links 0. I also published the News Flash and Popular modules. In the lower half, i published two Latest News modules for the two categories that i have. For the News Flash and Popular modules that were to be published only on the front page, i selected main menu | Home from the menu item links box since i wanted a related posts box inside the post page. While theoretically, i thought this setting it right, when i clicked on a sample article from the upper half of the front page, it continued to show the News Flash and Popular modules...however when i go to the same article through the Latest News module in the lower half, the News Flash and Popular modules are disappearing and the Related Items module is being shown...can anyone tell me what is it that i am doing wrong?
The problem you have here is that Joomla will treat the links coming from the intro articles as being associated with the home page menu item. The links in the other modules are treated differently. As far as I know there is no way around this.
