I often hear large companies state they have spent 1.1 million dollars or other large amounts of money on websites. What are these companies doing with this money? What is really needed to take a website to the top , to look really professional, authoritative? Can the small company achieve this , the sites I have do not have the crispness of a major player like overstock.com/ , macys.com , coca-cola.com. Is there a need to spend truckloads of money to have an excellent looking and performing website?
It's not about the website but it's all about traffic. There are such websites that looks like it belongs to some sort of big organization or company but belongs to just one person. It is not difficult to make a professionally looking website under $100 outsourcing. But bringing traffic to it is what they spend money on.
Yes as said above, traffic and SEO I also guess they put server hosting and web workers into that category, so it's very possible.
i am not refering to traffic , I am talking about the quality and look of the website, not traffic or seo , in this case the look of the site is important , more important then seo can a small business get a very high quality looking site without spending big money?? "It is not difficult to make a professionally looking website under $100 outsourcing." this is what i need where to outsource very good work for low prices???
The look of your website can look like cocacola and other big organization's websites easily. All you have to do is spend a few $$$ to outsource it.
I think the old saying of you get what you pay for applies here. That, and I would imagine a good majority of that money was spent on advertising their website, not designing / developing it.
Professional look website and the eye-catching website attract visitors to visit the website. This is another way to grab the attention of visitors too.
