Hey there everyone! It's J here, I was going to spend my whole day working with Craigslist marketing for a few of my companies, and of course there are many different ways to do it effectively... I thought with all the great experience a lot of people have on DigitalPoint, we could throw some great ideas out together, not just to help me... But anyone else promoting through Craigslist, because it has been an amazing method for a lot of marketers. Anyways what tips and tricks do all you more experienced CL marketers have? Thanks, hopefully we get some good mastermind's in here
We'll I've been trying to post job listings and stuff, some of them get taken down some stay up and don't get any hits. But i've heard of people having insane results by using the right method. Thought there may be some very experienced people in here willing to share their secrets
I would not recommend using Craigslist as a traffic source. The quality of traffic is very low. You have to be very spammy to make anything work, and the time investment is usually not worth the return.
I wish I could get in contact with the guy who made 30000$ in his first two months with Empower Network on Craigslist... So the leads can't be that horrible, it depends on how you tag them or something :S. It also doesn't have to be spammy... I'm building solid teams rather then 'huge' downlines, its way more effective. Thats why I figured there was somebody on here in a great position with CL posting :S
How do you know he made $30k in two months? Because he told you so? Because of people like you CL is the new spam network.... When you run off the legit posters, all you have left is spammers.... in the end, all the spammers will be spamming each other.... to be honest with you, I post from time to time on CL, and all I ever get is replies from the spammers....
We have hundreds of Affiliate Campaigns and as far as I am aware none of them will accept classified ads traffic such as Craigslist. Running this type of traffic will get you banned from a network and cut off your money. If you want to make money, use legitimate traffic sources.
can I ask, what kinds of things were you promoting? when you say replies from the spammers, you mean people messaging you trying to sell you their crap?
The problem (which is a good problem) with craigslist advertising is sooner or later you will get canned. They have the smarts (and engineers working for them) equal only to Google's. Just as Google has just put thousands of SEO experts out of work, craigslist keeps updating their spam filters in a way that makes methods that worked before - totally obsolete. The craigslist's marketing is effective as long as it doesn't cross the boundaries of being spam marketing. When it does, it's over. Anyone who makes $30000 a month on craigslist is a professional spammer. He/she may push his/her luck for sometimes, but in a few-month period that luck will be over. Being a craigslist's spammer is a bogus business. I wouldn't take it seriously and concentrate on something more effective and unique instead.
Lmfao, so much negativity. It's cool because I make sales in a dozen other ways. I felt like expanding a small reach onto Craigslist because others it has seemed to work for. My main marketing method is Direct Contacting, and NO I don't spam thank you. My personal opinion is that these are legitimate marketing sales jobs. My question wasn't to hear your criticism on the subject, but to rather hear what you have as a potential method to use to post effectively in a 'SPAM FREE' manner if you want to put it that way. Its okay though I figured out my method, and I have actually made a 25$ sign up today using it. I'm making 10k+ using other methods, but I figured another 10k~+ from Craigslist would be rather beneficial. Good luck marketing everyone. To be honest, its not that hard to build an online business, (Legitimately) and I am creating something a little bigger than you think.. You'll hear my name everywhere by this time next year I promise, and your right... this wont come from Craigslist but rather what I am doing behind the scenes with my time and money. I guess you got a point. But it can't be a bad method for people just getting started out in the industry right, I too am against spam so I understand where I am kind of going wrong. I did overreact a bit, and I am sorry. I just figured that, with the extra income coming in from something simple like craigslist ad's, and can't be that bad for business as a side source of advertising. I guess on that note, I do appreciate the feedback, I am sorry, and I do know what you mean when it comes to running a more unique business model.. But just adding all the methods together can get great results right ;p. Anyways... so back to the topic, no-one here has actually used craigslist and had results?!
If I was you I wouldn't even waist your time on Craigslist.. They have ghost posts where you think your ads live and its not and its just one big headache.. Besides you can not scale anything anyway because as soon as you try they are going to delete your account. And on the other side advertisers do not want Craigslist traffic and if your doing CPA offers they will not let the offer convert if they find that it's Craigslist traffic. There is so much more out there just open your mind and think of your angle of attack and fixing someones problem. Believe me if you listen to me then you are going to thank me ,I have been around the block for a while .. Just here help not discourage you from taking action. Video marketing is time better spent these days .. Google loves video... Hint Hint.. Best of luck my friend...
