Discrepancy between google trends & adwords keywords tool.

I was analysing a keyword phrase and was quite surprised by the results.
When i looked for the search queries per month for that phrase from google adwords keywords tool then it said that July 2008 had 1,65,000 search queries.

When I went to google trends and looked for the same phrase in the period of july 2008 it said it had no enough search volume to show. Ridiculous.

OR do you think that search queries of 165K per month is low??

    Thanks.

google trends means - the world’s most interesting topics (news) NOT the amount of search results

Then why big SEO guys advise to use google trends.
Everybody knows google trends doesnt show amount of search result but however, it shows the search trends. And That is what one is interested in while doing keyword reasearch.
