"Surrender" was the first draft. "Abandon" is more middle-of-the-road. "Withdraw" would be far too biased on the opposite side.

Ah, but that's the topic at hand. Yours could be an additional separate question, if any of the candidates had been polled on that issue.

Nice quiz Will, and it's pretty accurate my results were.

    1 Hunter
    2 Romney
    3 Tancredo

Is Huckabee included in the poll?

    Good luck

Why not have all three - and base the responses on what the candidates believe. Some have said we need to withdraw, some have said we need to abandon, and some have stated others wanted to surrender. If you also make all the things "No Opinion" as a default it would be better...

How advanced is the system? Is there a way to set something like "Yes" and then "Strong yes" ?

To kind of elaborate on Jackuul's idea, you either need to give more options, allow users to rate which issues are more/less important to them, or both.

    ly2, I got

    Paul
    Kucinich
    Guiliani

I think they have Guiliani as being way too pro "abolish the income tax". The quote they use to justify it doesn't really seem to suggest that...has he actually advocating getting rid of the income tax?

Yes. I'll add a list of candidates to the question form. :)

Thanks man! I need it! I don't have much of a clue as to how to market this thing.

    Two reasons:

    1. The purpose of a quiz like this is to make things simple. If you want to do in-depth analysis, a quiz isn't the right form. If I make an in-depth analysis tool, I will alienate my target audience.

    2. Politicians are natural liars. It's hard to categorize them even in boxes this big! They say different things at different times to different audiences. It's impossible to be accurate when your source data is that unreliable.

Who is the target audience? The dumb, gullible, easy to persuade, AGS types?

    2. That is so true. I like many things Ron Paul says, but where has there been action? But like most politicians he is talk, that is how he lines himself up with the moonbat society against the illuminati. (MSAI) He "asks those serious questions" like "I don't think we know the whole story on 9-11" (not an exact quote, but something like that.)

I put "No opinion" at all of them and here is what it gave me :

    # Thompson
    # Gravel
    # Obama

Seems like these 3 don't care about the country at all, according to the results :)

Pretty much. The Internet is all about volume and stupidity is the most common element in the known Universe.

Thompson and Obama have both been very careful not to state their positions. As long as no one knows them, it's harder to campaign against them. They are hoping for the "none of the above" vote.

Gravel, probably no one has bothered to ask him any questions. :D

    Jeb hasn't announced, has he?

With all of the rabid Ron Paul supporters here, I figured that someone would rapidly post his stances on all of these issues. I am beginning to wonder if Ron Paul's supporters know what their candidate stands for?

Jeb hasn't announced. I'm thinking that he may be drafted.

Ron Paul is too old. He's like 72 now. Regean was a lot younger and the press banged him for that.

    3 Huckabee

The problem with a lot of Ron Paul's stances is they can't be simplified into a yes/no type of response. A good example is abortion: He is personally opposed to it, but believes the federal government should not legislate it and it should be left up to the states to decide. Would you call that a no for abortion? His stance certainly isn't a yes, but to call it a simple no is definitely doing injustice to Dr. Paul's reasoning of the issue.

I'll try to answer the questions for Dr. Paul's stances as well as I can, given the simplicity of the responses.

Allow Same-sex Marriage: MIXED (personally against, believes federal gov't has no authority to decide though)
    NCLB: AGAINST
Legalized Abortion: MIXED (personally against, believes federal gov't has no authority to decide though)
    Ban Assault Weapons: NO
    Death Penalty: AGAINST

Stem Cell Research: AGAINST (not on moral grounds, opposed to gov't funding of research)
    Patriot Act: AGAINST
    Allow Drilling ANWR: YES
Maintain Guantanamo: AGAINST? [Unsure of his exact position]
    Background checks for firearms: NO

    Torture for terrorists: AGAINST
    Patriot Act Wiretapping: NO
    Illegal Aliens citizenship: NO
    Fence: FOR
    Network Neutrality: NO

Military Action in Iran: NO (use as last resort)
    War in Iraq: AGAINST
    Troop Surge in Iraq: AGAINST
Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage: AGAINST (personally against, believes federal gov't has no authority to decide though)
    Universal Healthcare: AGAINST

Civil Unions: MIXED (personally against, believes federal gov't has no authority to decide though)
    Kyoto Protocol: NO
    Abandon War in Iraq: AGAINST
Minimum Wage: AGAINST? [Unsure of his exact position]

    Wow! That's quite surprising!

Those two aren't usually considered that close to each other.

    Who are you currently supporting?

The absolute carnage that the Bush family have created you wouldn't want another one of the scumbags in power would you Will?
