I'm trying to write a disclaimer for My Site

I think it needs to cover the basics as:

"The articles posted here are for imformational purposes only. They should not be taken as medical advice or a prescription. Before starting on an exercise or diet program you should always consult a physician."

I know that's simple... I really think it's a shame we have to have these things, but in our letigious society, it's inevitable that someone will blame you for something.

Any imput from you will be appreciated.

And yes, I do know I should consult an attorney! lol

    Thanx,
    Marco

    I would use something like:
The information contained in this website is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute medical practice nor medical advice. Should you feel unwell you should consult a suitably qualified physician or medical practitioner.

I always say it's best to cover every angle possible. It's surprising what some people sue for these days. Try Foxs' idea or maybe

"This site does not treat, diagnose/assess medical conditions, prescribe medication or provide medical advice. The opinions, information and resources contained within this site are for informational purposes only. Before starting any type of medical progam, consult your physician to determine the options best suited to your individual needs."

You might also add (If applicable) that you are not a licensed medical professional, nor can you assure them that the articles published were written by one.

All very good points... Thank you.

How about a combination of them:

"This site does not treat, diagnose/assess medical conditions, prescribe medication or provide medical advice. The opinions, information and resources contained within this site are for informational purposes only and does not constitute medical practice nor medical advice. I am not a medical doctor. I cannot assure that the articles published herein were written by medical doctors. Before starting any type of medical progam, consult your physician to determine the options best suited to your individual needs."

    Is that too long winded?

    Oh yeah...

What do you think is the best way for me to add this to the site. A small link somewhere, a stand alone page, up in the header (if I can figure out how to do that) etc.

On your contact us page you need something like:

Please note that we do not answer medical questions or give medical advice and will not respond to such inquiries.

    Good point Rod... Thanks

Samskpunk - If the disclaimer fits for you, certainly use it. Besides I really don't think anyone can claim it as their own, but I appreciate you asking. As for your other question, I think WhatUdo! had a great idea. I just have to learn HOW to add that link... lol
