Disclaimer, copyright on webpages

I guess this question has been asked many times before but I could not find it with the search button ...

If I add a disclaimer on my webpage (in the footer), with some sentences like:"References or hyper links (including the text describing the links) to other web sites are just for information for the user of this site. We do not accept responsibility ....", is this considered as a legal protection? Does it make sense to have disclaimers on your site or not?

If it makes sense, should I had this on all my pages or is adding it on the main page sufficient?

And how about copyright statements on my site?

You should put a copyright notice on your pages. You can go with traditional copyright or use an appropriate Creative Commons copyright. I have traditionally copyrighted sites and Creative Commons copyrighted sites.

Having said that, your site content is always copyrighted, whether asserted or not.

Disclaimers about links to other sites are most appropriate in reference to your privacy policies. You are, afterall, not responsible for the privacy policies of sites to which you link.

In terms of disclaimers about the content of other sites, I would think this is largely a matter of taste and paranoia. It is not inapproprate to state that links to third party sites are provided for informational use only and that you are not responisble for the conmtent of such third party sites.
