I am working on my backlinks and think that I may have some inbound links that are hurting my site. They have the wrong anchor text and are coming from possible link farms and non related sites. How do I know if a link is harmful and has anyone used Google's Disavow tool? My site is mcnabs.com

If any link is harmful and you are not aware of this then you have to know it, it is all about your knowledge, what links you want to keep and what links you want to disavow..if you don't have clear understanding of which links should be removed then it is better to keep that links..

I agree. I haven't used the Disavow tool myself, but Google has a Help page on how to use the disavow tool and when to use it. I suggest you check the Google Webmaster Help pages.

    Have a good day!

For example. We moved from Phoenix AZ to Sierra Vista AZ. Most of my back links have anchor test of "Phoenix Arizona Real Estate" and I have not been successful changing them to "Sierra Vista Arizona Real Estate". Is it better to have the link with the wrong anchor text or get rid of it?
