Hi everyone, Using SEO software, we have found literally thousands of toxic links pointing to our site, we have two questions: 1. when disavowing in Google Webmaster Tool, because there are way too many toxic links, what is correct and most efficient way to do so? 2. the SEO software says that there are 100+ links pointing to our site from another site also owned by us, and because these links are from the same domain, so they are toxic as well, may I have your thoughts on this one? Thank you.
hi, Please see the screen cap for the exact message from the SEO tool we are using, it is called Web CEO.
What am I missing here? remove the links from the other site wait for google to reindex the other site toxic links gone, no need to disavow
Hi, It is called Webceo. Hi Sarah, Thanks for your suggestion, however, the dilemma is that, we own both sites. We point the link from site 1 to site 2 because we want to send traffic from site 1 to site 2, and it is working well. The SEO software we are using is called Webceo, and it is telling us there are too links pointing from site 1 to site 2 (please see attached screen cap). So we are curious if we can just ignore it since they are both our sites. Or is there an alternative solution?
So webceo is just a program, right? It's detecting loads of links and assuming you've spammed a link farm If the links on the feeder site are "natural" then you don't have a problem. The worst that will happen, imo, is that Google will consider the two sites to be one and treat the links as internal.
At worst add a no follow tag and see what difference this makes to your SEO. In the code just add rel="nofollow" to the links and then you will still receive traffic but no penalties. If the nofollow decreases SEO rather than improve sit simply remove them again.
Why not? If you have lot's of bad links pointing at your site surely you want to remove them if the webmaster pointing them at you won't.
Links from your own domains are OK - do not bother. Put together a disavow file and remember to unite multiple links from the same domain in one line. Here is an example of a disavow file.
