Hi, I am DISAVOWING some links and added them like this: site.com othersite.net ...etc. Then upon upload, this message appeared to me: You successfully uploaded a disavow links file (disavow.txt) containing 0 domains and 27 URLs. Why "0 domains", because the URLs are domains, actually?
Well DISAVOWING is removing your low quality back links and when you going through DISAVOWING then it ll effect on your bad links not on domains and it will take 10 to 15 days for complete this process. But I want to disavow entire domains. I uploaded site URLs. How can I ban domains? I am getting unwanted junk traffic from there. (Some say the DISAVOW takes even 6+ months to take effect).
When you done this? Well its process takes minimum 15 day and max 45 days if you still getting junk traffic after 45 days then you can direct contact with google through your webmaster tool
Is there such a thing: to contact them directly? I am getting a ton of junk traffic. This traffic finds me everytime and I don't know where from/why it comes...
Contacting Google directly?!?! Yah...good luck with that Apart from the disavow taking some time to take effect I think the issue here lies in the actual way you tried to disavow the whole domain. The tool is a little tricky in that extent. If you just type the domain - it won't work. The proper way is to type domain:baddomain.com This way the message should also immediately tell you that you have 1 disavowed domain.
OK, so you're saying I could just modify it and then the domains would be banned? domain:baddomain1.com domain:baddomain2.com domain:baddomain3.com
Correct, this is the proper format for disavowing whole domains. Keep in mind that changing that in the disavow file will reset its status and it will again take some time for all changes inside the file to take effect (like a normal reconsideration request to big G).
