I tried to log in to my desktop computer today and Windows Vista kindly locked me out by not recognising the password. I haven't changed it. I set up a new user account in safe mode so that at least I could get in to the computer but now of course I can't see any of my files because the computer is treating me as a new user. Can anyone help to solve the rpoblem please?

I knew what the old password was but the old user account appears to have been deleted. I don't know how to recover it and if recovery is even possible.

I've actually found the user profile and all the documents etc. associated with it but it's moved from it's original location. Any ideas on how to put it back to a place where I can use it to log on? I'll be buying an external hard drive first and backing up everything onto it before I start. Thanks in advance for your help.
