Disapproved Ads & Keywords

I don't understand Google Adwords. I am promoting Sat TV on Your PC and they disapproved my keywords and ads! There are plenty of other ads running with the same item! I don't get it. I even based my ads on how other ads were set up.

In their email Google said "At this time, Google policy does not permit the advertisement of websites that contain hacking or cracking." What are they talking about?! This product has nothing to do with that!

Anyone have any ideas on what is going on?

I'm guessing they think that your ad falls under one of these categories of non-permitted advertising. This is what they say:

Don't promote hacking and cracking sites.

Advertising is not permitted for the promotion of hacking or cracking and tools that aid in copyright infringement. For example, we do not permit:

Sites that provide instructions or equipment to illegally access or tamper with software, servers, or websites
Sites or products that enable illegal access of cell phones and other communications or content delivery systems/devices
Mod chips, such as devices that unlock copyright protection
Products that descramble cable and satellite signals in order to get free cable services
Copied or backed-up version of software, CDs, or DVDs not intended for personal use
Products or services that circumvent digital rights management technologies or technical protection measures for copyrighted works

So I'm guessing that's not the case for you. If so, write them an email (they're suppose to get back within one business day) or call them up and explain the situation and what's happening, and they should do a user review of your ads and they should let them run if it is not breaking any of their rules.

Yeah, it is a matter of time they will take the rest of the ads away. It happened to me as well.

My first two adgroups for the same product were approved and running. When I went to add a third adgroup, Google disapproved the ad, saying it promoted hacking and cracking. Once they've decided that, you're pretty much dead in the water for that product. Over the course of time, you'll see less and less sponsored ads for this product as Google discovers them and shuts them off.

You can appeal, of course, but, in this case, I'm pretty sure you're going to lose.

Check your keywords make sure your don't have a keywords saying cracks or get cracks or anything like that.

If it all looks fine give them a call. there reviewers can be a bit ruthless sometimes with certain things.

SAT TV is banned from google. I was running the same ads for a few weeks and they canned my whole campaign. I have gone through about 10 phone converstations with them with no positive results. They don't care if the content is legal or not, they are removing all campaigns that have to do with it.

Yup, they just have to review them and are slowly removing them. Of course people are adding them just as fast hehe

I've found all of the PPC guys (Google/Yahoo/MSN) to be very sporadic about their "rules" - they follow them sometimes and other times they don't. Not very consistent at all.

Well that's because they don't manually inspect everything, they use bot and bot can be fooled or prone to make error.
