Disappearing pages

One of my clients posts information about an upcoming sale on the website, which as a result may get caught by links/search engines/etc.

The thing is, once the sale is over, the sale is deleted and the page no longer exists.

Does this have any sort of a negative effect? Should I instead never really "delete" the sales, and simply mark them as OVER or something so that page still exists and everything? Or, leave it how it currently is and once the sale has passed, as has the page?

Yeah, I'd never delete them at all. Those pages will get indexed and ranked, while also providing more good content on your site for visitors to find your site with on the search engines engines. I'd put something like:

"This sale is over, but if you're interested in other products please find them below"

and then list other products or sales that are currently going on.

The page will have pictures and information about the sale... Are you guys suggesting I leave EVERYTHING in tact, and just like, include another line indicating "sale over"... or should I replace the conttent with "sale over"?

The pictures, the address, the description, etc... is really all utterly useless after the sale is over...
