Hi Everyone, There might have already have been a section on this, but I could not find with a quick search so apologies if their has. My problem is that i have a website http://www.emselectrical.com which is a UK company and i use google UK. The problem is that under the search term electrical contractors my site keeps disappearing. As an example about a month ago it came up with the home page about 3rd page for the search term then after a week it totally disappeared. Then last week it reappeared in the same ranking then disappeared on saturday. From a little research i thought it would be duplicate content but i checked on copyscape and I have no duplicated content. There is a little duplication on other pages when we talk about a product but not on the page that keeps disappearing. It is the home page that ranking. I would not say the site is new its been going for about 8 years but last year had a redesign and launch about June. there are no outstanding 301 redirects. So i'm a little lost of why this is. Last week i started going on a little backlink mission and signed up to some various directories (organic) (apart from nomoz and one other which was about £3 just to sign up). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Cris www.emselectrical.com
If this is a new ranking, I wouldnt worry yet for it. I would assure myself to have a properly optimised content then continue building links for it. The google dance is normal for a new serp or when you are improving in rank. If it was a long lasting ranking and you suddently start to dans in google, then either your competitors are improving their sites or you have changed something. One element you might consider is that google is rolling out their new search engine called "caffeine" very soon. But they have been testting it on afew datacenters for 1-2 months. Might be the reason.
