Many directories sort their listings by PR. I like that. My question is do they update, or are they static by the PR when they were submitted? I'm sure it may vary on what script they are using. Just noticed that one of my sites in Alive directory, who's PR when up on this update, is still showing the old PR in Alive. Does the PR checker script go out checking at particular intervals, or something? Not that it would make much of a difference, I think the site might still stay on page 2 for its category anyways once it reads the new PR. I'm just curious about it.
If they're using a phpLD plugin like the one from DirectorySpy.com, they have to update the site's PR manually. The way I did it on my directory was a tool that set the PR when the site was submitted and then the PR was updated every month via cron job. I'm not sure what's more common.
i as a directory owner update my site once every month or so... or if someone specifically request to be updated because they know their site has been updated its just one of the services i provide with my paid directory... when you are getting a link you can request
Well, my directory automatically updates the PR when users browsing them. Cache them on db for a few weeks or a month.
http://netdung.com is done manually.I thought the pr updates were done and i update all of the pr. then a couple of days ago we had another one, so i will give a few days more to settle.
Personally, I use the directory spy addon on my directories and run a complete update after 7 days of PR settlement.
