This might just be me but

How annoying is it when directories don`t even send you confirmation that your link has been submitted let alone if it is accepted or rejected.

Q:How hard is it to setup notifacations?
    A:It is`nt its bloody simple.

    Ok rant over

yah, when u send confirmation email, it sometimes triggers spam return as you've confirmed that they've reached a target. But i still send confirmation email regardless :p

thought abt your idea too. But think it wld be rude to those genuine sites that i've rejected not to at least inform them. So have not done so....

I think it's polite to reply that a submissions been received, for me as a submitter I can flag that and wait for confirmation. I recently submitted to Alive and didn't hear anything for a couple of days, so I had to diary it.

I send received and accepted but not rejected cos people start arguing.

I send a somewhat personalized, but canned email upon every acceptance.

If a site is not as functional/done as it should, I might leave it in the queue and revisit some rainy day. If it is the same - I delete as I state that sites must be complete.

If a site is 95% acceptable, but has a problem I email. (Only happened once or twice.)

Since the majority of my deletions are for sites being totally out of my niche or not completing the submission (the tips part mainly) they get deleted. I couldn't be bothered with them and I already get enough spam.

I send welcome, accept, and reject emails. If the welcome email comes back undeliverable, the submission gets deleted from my review. Not that I email anyone who requests a link other than the reasons above, but in my opinion, if people can't supply a valid functioning email address then they shouldn't get reviewed or listed.

I presume your directory is free? Otherwise, submitters will not be pleased to have paid and not hear anything for eons.....
