    Hi Rex.

    Well basically the purpose of a directory submission is to have your link at a place surrounded with simular websites with simular content in a proper category. That way you will have your backlink not on any regular website or blog, but in a place were your backlink really matters.

    If you had to choose only one Directory go for Google Places. It's the most extensive and because it's Google I kinda think beign listed here might help your PR just a tad. The other two I target are Yahoo and Bing. Submission are free and you can include photos, videos, tags, product descriptions.

    directory submission, helps to create sites traffic as well as backlink..Good backlink if it is placed on the most relevant category.

    Directory submission is still a channel for building backlinks, especially on niche relative directories and deeping linking accepted directories. Of course, you might also expect direct traffics though it is not so powerful as before.
