Hi, anyone know of a submission tracking tool out there thats free? Just something that will list a number of directories and allows you to tick them off once submitted? Cheers
please check out http://www.seosquare.com/directory-list/index.htm it is a work in progress with features added daily. best features so far: when you click on the url for hte directory, it automatically checks the box. at the bottom of the page you can press the submit button and it will generate a list of the directories you submitted to, if you dont like a dir after visiting it remmber to uncheck the box. pr, and submission types soon to come. dejavu has a nice list as well, but mine is a bit more user friendly and i am trying to remove as many steps from the boring process of dir submission as possible.
Great Tool. Thanks. I hate to sound unappreciative but any idea how accurate the backlinks check might be? Anybody? Thomas J.
how accurate the backlinks checker is as far as does it go with Google's or is it lower ranking links also? Hey, want to sell me some ad space? Thomas J.
googles backlink checker is almost worthless. the tool on my site only uses link:www.site.com to check. when i am actually checking links with google generally i do a search for: www.site.com -site:www.site.com this will give you a decent idea of what google sees in relation to your site. i am not too sure if this is the "right" way to see backlinks with google but it works for me. i will edit the tool on my site to include "my" version of the backlink check.
If you are talking about my site, then the backlink check is for most directories 100% accurate. It uses a much more complex searching technique than just google. The tool at seosquare is also nice, but it serves slightly a different purpose. You should check out both sites to see which tool will suite you the most. With my tool you can submit and track different sites, and then come back at a later time to submit to more directories (since the data is stored in our database for each of your sites). The tool at seosquare do not seem to store the data, making it more for if you plan to do single submission marathon to all directories.
right as dejavu stated, you cannot store your site information nor does it track what dirs youve submitted to. i had played with that concept, but i choose to not require a signup process and login as i was looking for a tool to remove steps not add them dejavus would be better for your personal site, mine is better if you do lots of submissions. and you can just save the results pages into notepad or print them or somethign to keep track from mine. how does your tool handle the backlink checking? does it just crawl the site when the user requests it or are you checking alll the links daily? just curious btw, not going to steal the idea a tool i came across that makes my life much easier in submission world is jdn hotkeys, i have no affiliation with them http://www.geocities.com/jdn_hotkeys/ the proggy is freeware and simply allows you to make a list of hotkeys that when pressed will produce the given text. i usualyl submit abotu 4 sites at a time to the directory list to maximize my performace. i set the hot key to ctrl+1-5 for the first site to produce the stored title, url, descr4iption, name, email. then i add the other 3 sites to crtl+q,w,e,r,t,y and follow the keyboard down. hope thats helpful.
hey dejavu I joined and I started submitting to directory, but when I check submitted at your site and click on update, the check directories does not come up as checked when the page refreshes!! Anything wrong? I am using Opera browser if that helps you
Hi Marcus I just added my blog to your directory, thanks. Just one comment, the submission form is quite hard to use with Firefox. You might want to take a look Sarah
