I've been using submiteaze for years and can fully recomend it. and you know what, it IS a software package and it work very well, many times for different websites I run. Anyone who claims doing it manually is 'better' is either a) lying or b) don't know what they're talking about. So long as the directory receives the submission and the category is correct then it doesn't matter HOW it's submitted. Period.
Manual submission is always great.. sometimes that url might get banned for ever for some good directories
I think manual submission can give advantage and quality back links from directories. No doubt, Link building in SEO is time taking task. As some friends mentioned in you above post reply that different directories have different criteria regarding acceptance of link and they do not like automated submission. *Most important things in link building is website relevancy! Semi-automated software's are likes a manual submission. But it has many directory list with categories and automated filling the text areas with random title and description which you prefer. Then you will click manually the submit button and if there is a captcha you must enter that.
