Well they differ slighty from directory to directory but some that i have in place on mine are: No racism, pornography, warez, MFA, poker, cigarettes or viagra type of sites. Do not submit sites that are under construction or with almost no content please. Please write a quality description with complete sentences and no promotional words or prices. Include your real name and working email address and select the correct category please. I usually have around a dozen guidelines on my directories, generally im looking for the submitter to follow at least a few of them, im realistic and understand that a submitter doesn't have time to read everything while submitting, im prepared to edit, change category if incorrect and things like that anyway. If i could give advice to a submitter when submitting it would be not only to check what will get you approved but check whats most important to you as well, if its a pay for review and you expect a refund on rejection then check if they give them or not. If your question is regarding free directories then many will still have guidelnes in place but generally it should be a lot easier to get approved in them anyway.
I think your restrictions are great for a directory in general, having such sites will tend to get the directory black listed or punished by SEOs.
Have a website that a real person, looking for information on a subject, would say "that's a really useful site". That means have useful information or functionality not to be found elsewhere, and present it in a clear, uncluttered fashion. Not only will you be increasing your chances of getting into the directories, but you will also be doing internet surfers a service.
