DIrectory Submissions

    Hey everybody,

    Im in the process of adding my sites to free directories but am curious....
    if i am adding my sites to directories with a variation of my keywords as anchor text should i be varying my description as well??

    As much help would be very much appreciated!

    Yes you should, I use over 15 different anchor text/descriptions for every website I submit to web directories.

    It doesn't really matter, frankly. Most important is your TITLE i.e. the anchor title. For description, it just helps google to point the search result to those pages in the directory that there exist your link.

    Variations in your anchor text really helps when submiting your sites to different directories. It gives you more range of keywords.

    Both help.

    The anchor has more weight, but google will also 'fetch' the keywords that are close to it (the description)

    Having multiple anchor/descriptions will help you as G and other engines don't give so much weight to the exact same link that appears in many web sites.
