    Hi,
    Why is it believed that all the directory submissions should be done manually? There are so many auto-submission programs around - and manual submission will take a lot of time, won't it?

    Submitting to directories via automation could get get your site penalized (by the search engines) for gaining too many links too quickly -- especially if your site is new.

    Plus, if the directory is human edited you might get rejected for having a very generic description, etc

    Also the submission form of every directory is not the same, there is a difference in the categories and fields of various directories so automated submissions are not feasible.

    some of directories wont be submitted by autosubmission tools only manual submission can do.

    For me, it is better to do manual submission because even though it takes a lot of time, I think it is effective because some of the auto-submission programs does not work in some directory websites and could increase the chance of being penalized.
