Oh yeah? Do you know that most of those quality directory submission services are all banned from my directories? I have like 600 IPs banned in my database, all of them starts with 59.* 213.* & 212.* :)

Nobody should use a directory submission service, they all use softwares or/and never submit your sites (cause you will not follow up each submissions right? That's why you use services)... Dunno who is cgmindia but he is the biggest spammer so far!

banned 600 IPs ..lol .. whats your dir url between ?
< nah .. not all use softwares there are some legit ones aswell >

you meant you were already having 1600 links before going for the submissions to 2000+ dirs.
Btw how many of the 2000dir were good ones < not new / got some PR > . I guess you must have recvd a Report or something .

You used So Many submitters to submit Same Domain ???

They're all banned and each time a submitter try to submit a new site he gets a very funny picture saying you're banned... It's very mean :D, this is only on my free directory not for the paid ones.

I invite any banned submitters to contact me so we can discuss this matter :D:D:D

Similar experience here. About a year-plus of doing my own manual directory submissions boosted my website from PR2 to PR5.

BTW, I pretty much stick to submitting to the several new directories offered each day in Digital Point's "Solicitations..." subforum.

Question: you guys have gotten a PR 4 quickly, but did you get any rankings for your keywords in Google?

We again are missing the main issue here. After the Excel report is sent by the submitter to the client. How can client check and verify that they were actually submitted?. Browsing thru each and every site on the Excel list is not possible, if one has that much time, then might as well do himself the entire submission himself in the first place.

Depends whose service you use, remember, cheapest is not always best. :)

Oh big mistake btw, if those submitters submitted to the same directory multiple times, you probably got banned for multiple submissions, or rejected.... you should of used 1 submitter for everything.... besides out of those 2000 you know how many were duplicate? probably 1200!

Submit site to new directory or paid directory.
For new sites, the best way is buying sitewide link with nice pr.

Yes on my PR5 site. Not only did daily uniques jump dramatically, but right now I have about 20 keyword phrases on Google's first page. According to Overture/Wordtracker, these keyword phrases receive anywhere from 25 daily searches to 1,000+.

I have concluded that the fast and steady jump has been a result of (1) diligent manual submission to directories, using varied anchor text and (2) on-page SEO.

If you try to submit to some of those dir in the report then you should get an error message saying that url already exist or something similar .
< though it doesnt necessarily mean that you have been listed in the dir >

thats why I asked many times if you used so many submitters for same domain  bcos there are not that many dirs <free ones> and there will be definitely some common dirs in there reports < and multiple entries wont be accepted , also sometimes its not possible to do multiple entries bcos of url exist error > .... choose one submitter < atleast for same domain > bcos he knows to which dirs he has submitted :) :) < you might use another one for another domain :D >

I think using 7 different directory submitters was a mistake, because you'll get a lot of duplicate submissions in that. Most directories aren't set up to tell you that a site is already listed or pending review. And I doubt that most submitters take the time to do a search to see if you are already listed.

A good submission service should send you a report, but you will also know if they are doing a the job if you check your logs carefully for referrals from the directories. If you get nothing at all in your logs, something is up.

But crucially, the submission service isn't going to know your business as well as you do. Will they write as good a description of your site as you can, and place it in the most accurate category?
