Is it a good or a bad idea to pay for directory submissions on high PR directories? Also, does anyone send emails to webmasters asking for links on their site? If so does it work for you? Thanks
There are lots of high PR directories which are free. If you pay for them, it is Better. So it is GOOD Idea if the Directory is of Quality. I do emails some webmaster of relevant and Quality websites to request for backlinks and YES its worth it. It brings Traffic and make up good PR.
Google is penalizing paid directories these days, so I'd suggest if you go for paid links on directories, you should be really careful.
What do you mean "Really Careful"? Also how would you know if google is penalizing you? I'm new to this, so the few keywords that I'm at the top of google for are probably from the paid blog rolls that I have done. I've been at the top with these keywords for about 1 month. Do you think that one of these days, I'll be dropped down?
Well you can send e-mails to webmaster asking for links, but have somewhere where you can place there links . As far as directories go there is some great directories out there, but half of them did just get hammered by big g.
i go for free directories... when I'm going to pay.. i go for the paid banner ads with a high PR sites... instead for directory... Sending email in every webmasters is also a good idea..
"Google is penalizing paid directories these day".It is nonsense, many sites can sell the links because the site have big traffic and it is also the element of internet marketing but not exactly SEO-so I don't thinks that Google could penalty these sites only because of the link sale-this is stupid
