Directory submissions...at what point is it overkill?

    Yes, this doesn't mean that every site will have the same levels in link building to kick it into unatural levels.

    All I know is what I hear from other successfull SEO's and what I have seen in my sites.

    I agree with the issues of having a sucessfull press release or you site getting a high volume link that producess additional links, have no clue how google will handle this.

    Recently I launched 3 sites all with unique content, althought in different markets, they have relatively the same market saturation. The site that was submitted to 200 directories (along with natural link building) is getting no serps in google, the others that I used natural link buikding with are on the first page, all after a few months.

    Use this information as you feel fit.

    Thank you for your response. I am always looking for more information on this topic. The more data we can get on the subject of building links quickly the better. Too many seo myths get touted as fact with little or no evidence to back them up.

    I agree, it get hard to sift through what is a myth and what has been proven. A lot of strategies also are dependent on the specific details of the site in questions. There are just so many variables involved.
