Directory Submissions any Useful ?

Do you guys think that directory submissions are any useful for making backlinks. I have a feeling (after testing many sites) that too much directory backlinks may be bad for rankings.
Please share your experiences and views. Thanks.

 

Yes Directory submission is very useful for making back links of any site. Through directory submission any website can boost in search engine

 

You have to look for good directories since many are just link farms in disguise. Many good ones also want to see some money before they let you in, so directory submission is not what it was a few years ago.

 

my suggestion is Directory submission is never help that much for SERP position to our keywords. Every one told directory submission is good. they told about the quality websites. like a Dmoz etc. so those kind of websites never will give the approval.

 

its is actually the starting process that we do while starting a SEO Project. Its very important from SEO prospective, as it provides backlinks for the website and ensure that you are choosing high quality directories to gain high page rank

I only believe Directories like Yahoo’s Directory and DMOZ which have been cited by several search engines as logical places for inclusion as part of an effort to acquire inbound links.

Directory submission still works but it would take a lot of time AND you are not sure if you were be accepted.

doing directory submissions is one way of improving backlinks., but i think 50-100 directory submissions is equal if we get a ONE-WAY link from theme related website..,

 

Directory submission is the one of the best way to getting one way link google gives much importance to human approve link but the thing is you should get relevant links from relevant sites.

 

Directories are just "link farms". Being honest, Who uses a Directory to find a website????, we are in 2012, not in 1992. Directories are useless, I would do blog commenting or any other backlinking activity instead of submitting my links to crappy directories, or simply outsource and pay someone for a quality backlink service here on DP or anywhere else.

 

Backlinks from the quality, relevant, high PR sites/directories is always helpful. And try keeping unique descriptions, titles while submitting to the directories to overcome the spamming related issues/problems.
