There was a time when directory submission was dominating part of SEO. Nowadays nobody talks about submitting websites to the directories. Is directory submission no more effective?
Hi All, Directory Submission is still effective for website. But We don't see the page rank of the directories if we submit our website on the good rank directories then its effective otherwise we may bear a loss. For Example, If our website page rank is 3 and we posted our website on page rank 2 directories then its not helpful but we suffer loss.
yes it is! because directory submission creates a kind of buzz for your site or business online, which is very important for search engine rankings.
Yes, that is true back then because you can spam your links there but now this method is no use at all. RIP DMOZ You will be wasting your time submitting your link in directories because it doesn't convert at all so try the other popular mediums instead.
You Should 5-10 Directory Submission Daily on right PR website. Go to Google & search Instant approval Directory Submission site. where you can find good website.
All those instant approval website are pure spam directories since no one reviews the listings. Now, there is a difference between editorial discretion (like DMOZ was and there are still a few quality directories) and those "accept anything" directories.
I don't think directory submission is still effective. No one really even care that those directories exist.
Well, lets say someone creates a new website. In your opinion where should people start getting some buzz about it? The Internet is not a fair or even thing for everyone. If you have enough cash to invest, you just use Google Adwords and you need nothing else. But, would you invest thousands or even 10s of thousands just hoping for the best? From my past 12 year experience SEO is a myth. It's all about getting people who are interested in what you're offering to your store (aka... I go to Starbucks because I want a coffee). A year ago or so, made a test with a few newly created websites, some were suggested to a few paid directories (BOTW, Business.com and a few more) and there was a positive ranking signal. Don't think it was a coincidence. A directory is nothing more than a collection of resources. If a reputable institution has a page with all the real estate companies from a specific are, wouldn't you like to be on that list as well? And DMOZ is dead as we know it, but the project will continue.
There has been enough discussion everywhere about whether to do directories submission or not? In my opinion, if you have exhausted every strategy of search engine optimisation, both on the page and off the page, then only look for additional help from directories submission. Otherwise, it may burn your hand since there is nothing called shortcut of ranking higher on any search engines. Also looking at fact that Google is daily coming up different strategies, you have to be very careful choosing qualitative directories. It may harm you big time if not chosen wisely. So if there are so many ifs and buts then it would be wise enough to park the idea of directories submission if you are a newbie. Follow other established strategies of SEO like writing engaging & long articles, guest posting, reaching out to influencers for backlinks, etc.
Directory listing is as effective as it was before, but as long as title and description are spam free. Also, these days get listed in the directory is not the only one effective way, but there are more factors you need to pay attention too.
Hi, Years ago people made a lot of money running a directory for very little effort, These days it's a lot of work for very little return but as the directory industry is not as big as it once was, The people who have stayed and persevered will hopefully one day be reaping the rewards. All The Best
1. High editorial discretion (everybody hates those 50 "best SEO company" titles. It's obvious... jost go and and see a DMOZ - objectivity is the key - editing mode ) 2. Alexa, DA, MR 3. Trust Flow. 4. Age 5. Notability (are people talking about it?) 6. Being indexed by all major SE. 8. Well maintained. 9. Does it offer anything extra besides the bare listings to enhance the quality of the listings? et caetera.
Directories are still very effective, in fact, Google still recommends it. At Climaxbox we use directories and forums for client nitch.
