    Mostly directory submission is for the sake of backlinks to the website being promoted, however, some directories do drive traffic and also help more than the others in term of ranking. I would always include directory submission as the first step of any link building campaign for my sites. I'm only seeking link diversity which is becoming more and more important nowadays. Don't expect to rank for a competitive keyword by buying a small package of few hundred submissions to link directories. You definitely need more than that.
    Always remember that submitting is one thing, getting listed in the directories is another manner, you need a quality site at first.

    I think directory submission help us to get both traffic and links. And the quantity of submission links to directory should not over 30-40 links per day.
