Hello Everybody, I would like to ask you, Is is possible to get traffic from directory submission methods, means from directories? Or This is only for getting indexed by backlinks? Thanks in advance.
Ya........directory submission is helpful in getting large traffic, but the sites should be of quality site.
I use all backlinks methods to get links not traffic .. It is possible to get some traffic but that's not the main purpose ...
In my experience is you submit your site to a huge number of directories you might get a few a month come to you from the list of directories you dropped your URL - but nothing of note and you can almost guarantee they won't be traffic you can expect to convert, unless you are also a directory or selling directory submissions (guessing, not actually tried that)
You can get traffic, of course, but don't expect that much or even make it your target. Cause directories are made for SEO back links purposes.
You might get traffic from directory submission, but its not going to be targeted traffic. On just about all of my sites, traffic from directories and social bookmarking sites has around a 90% - 100% bounce rate. With a bounce rate that high, your going to need massive amounts of traffic for any of it to stick around. I do directory submissions, but not a lot of it. With bounce rates in the 90% range, its nothing that I want to spend a lot of time on.
Yes, directory submission can help in getting traffic, but don't expect much traffic from it. It could only give additional traffic.
Only if the directories you are submitting your site to: 1. Have quality links/sites 2. Huge traffic 3. Aged and reputable A great number of directories these days are not by any chance can bring traffic, as no one (at least no human) visits directories for getting site references. So the best strategy should be to go for other link building strategies (like blog commenting & social bookmarking).
Directories are used generally for getting the backlink for your site, they are not helpful in getting the traffic to your site.
i did directory submission for a while. all i noticed it do was provide backlinks, i guess i had a few visitors who came from the directories, but not many. so i don't figure it's a reliable source of traffic.
Directory submission is one of the most affordable, often free, link building methods existing out there today. Some directory submission benefits :- 1)Directory submissions provide increased link popularity. 2)Getting listed in major search engines. 3)Increased visits from search engine robots 4)Increased visibility to search engines 5)Keyword targeting. 6) Brand building. 7) Relevant link building.
I think Directory Submission is a nice way to build quality back links to your site. But it gives only small quantity of traffic to your site.
Directories will NEVER get you traffic directly. They're only used for backlink building and put your site up in SERPs. That will get you traffic but directories will never get your DIRECT traffic.
I do not think this is useful way to get good amount of traffic but we can say that this an easy source to create inbound links because only people visit directories for getting links only.
As others have posted, you probably won't get much traffic from directories. I use them all the time for indexing purposes but when I check my stats, I rarely see any referrals from those sites, though they do occur. I wouldn't rely on them as a source of traffic.
Directory submission is proven to be a wonderful method for gaining quality one-way incoming back links. Even newbie SEOs ( Search Engine Optimizing people ) knows how incoming links play an important role in today's search engine optimization procedure. Higher the quality of incoming links better your search engine rankings and internet visibility.
