What are the Pro's and Cons of using directory submission software. There are a few out there that allow you to create multiple titles and descriptions and rotate them as well as chosse when to submit so you can do say 20 a week or something. If this is the case is it ok to do this verses doing every one manually?
Can you please, phrase your question well? Doing so will make it easier for people to understand your point and subsequently come to your aid soon.
I personally use SubmitEaze. It is semi-automatic; it puts in the description, titles, etc then you make any changes (if it put in anything wrong) and enter in the captcha.
Few people submit to directories, unless they are paid, without using some sort of help. Roboform is a nice form filler, and there are plugins available for Firefox which work well too. Submitting to 20 directories per day is too few. I'd bump it up to 50 atleast, assuming you are using a large directory list. Don't forget it can takes days, weeks, or months to have your submissions reviewed. Then it can take weeks for a search engine to find those approved links in directories.
I've always done mine by hand and yeah it does take a little longer but not much. I want to vary my submissions anyway and you don't want the same titles and descriptions anyway. As well, some directories take a fair bit of rooting around to get your submission in, and with some you have to register with them. In addition, in my field which is gambling a lot of directories don't accept links and I don't want to waste my time fiddling around with these and I just go there and look around a bit first. Overall, it's not a bad idea to get semi-automatic submission software for directories and certainly this is what you want for normal sites but you can't beat manual submission for effect. I'm currently testing SubmitEaze and so far, I love it. Though it's semi-automated, you still have to visit a directory to submit your links. It provides you with a feature to store many titles, descriptions etc, so you don't have to use only one title and description for all your submissions. Just visit a directory and select the "Project" (a set of title, description and Meta tags) to use for it. And you have to fill in the Captcha yourself if the visited directory demands it. To me I consider any directory submitter that meets the the standard of the above-mentioned submitter as manual submission, but extremely faster. I will not use any directory submitter that allows you to submit to directories from an external page other than the directories' official link submission pages. That can be termed a Spam bot. Directory administrators frown at that.
That is what I was looking for. I knew it wasn't good to fill in your info and expect something to submit to all sites with no effort, but I was also looking at the submit-eaze and I liked the idea of having multiple titles and descriptions and being able to choose how many directories you submit to in one day.
HI Semi submitter are the way to go and there are many out there now so you need to weight up your options and features.. Thx Tom
