I don't have the time to use any article submissions software. I generally just post to Ezine, Buzzle and article marketer.

I don't want to waste my time submitting to useless article directories, there's easier ways to get PR0 backlinks ;)

I have to agree with these comments from Linkmeup as well. I think what most are saying is that you need to "manually select" your list of directory candidates instead of blindly using those that come with your software. That I think is valid. However, I also see no justification for manually doing the data entry and button clicking.

I think SubmitEaze is good software. It's not automatic submission. You choose the directories to submit to. You check what the software has filled in to the form before submission. It just automates some of the boring parts.

Manual submission is always the best way to ensure you get submitted correctly (and thus ensure acceptance). Some of the semi-automatic tools are nice to save a little time and provide a list of directories, but you still need to manually review what they are going to submit.

dir submission software submits all your entries with the same anchor text, which is BAD. Unless you have software which randomly goes through a list of descriptions, anchor texts so it submits with different texts. But such software is not known to me. dir-submission is way overrated.

i say that since i had sites with paid dir-submissions in 100s and 1000s of dirs...and the result is not really worth to mention.

Then better spend energy on article submission, or do manual submission to HQ directories. Get a blog etc..etc.... every dummy can do dir-submission, so i really think its overrated in these times of web2.0

GeorgR- The software I use does switch between anchor text, descriptions.

Now as to whether or not directory submission is worth it is another discussion. :)

It's worth it for me because my sites aren't going after highly competitive keywords like some of you are. My purpose is simply to get people to go my brick and mortar store. So for me directory submissions are all I really need.

    Friends,

First of all I would like to address some issues on submission to directories.
    1. The automatic submitter cannot get you the right category
    2. Submission forms are different and most of the form fields go unfilled
    3. Almost 80% of the directories have a Captcha or image verification
    4. Some directories need you to register an account before doing any submission
    5. 70% of the good directories need a confirmation by which you have to click a link sent to your email or key in the confirmation code
    6. Most of all directories don't like auto submitters.
    7. You will never no if the submission went through or not.

So it is lot better to submit manually even if you are submitting to a few directories.
