    automatic or manual, it doesn't matter. the key is: whether you fill in the correct information and select the correct category. if a program can do both correctly, it will not hurt your site. but if it is done wrongly by a human, it will hurt your site too.

    I have to agree with the guy who has 3,658 Posts: it's more than ethical to acknowledge this as a seo tip not a rule" I am rewarding the poster with a conglomerated Applause. not to say the other post are wrong many stick to basic submission standards and thats fine" maybe it's a phobia that one has grown up with online" its not that all directories only accept hand written " the soft ware thats online today is allot better programed to meet directory standards> as a overview and rule never submit to the same directory before 30 days" in other words submit every 30 days or more" or you could get your domain black listed" thats not worth it" so why do some directories only accept hand written? it sounds like the recommended soft ware he mentioned is smart enough not to get noticed as a soft ware submition program when it is entering the submition phase."

    with all directories at any rate 50 to 100 directories are being added to the Internet every day " I think thats great! now how can anyone possibly keep up with that kind of #. :rolleyes:

    thanks everyone this has been a really noticeable post' and well ackowledged

    I just got a question: do you manually submit your websites to 100 or more search engines?
    How long does it take you?

    With auto filling software about 2-3 hours. Otherwise - 1-2 day.

    if you have the Netscape browser its free" it could take some time although what I do is open up word docs and make out a title and description for all my sites then copy paste it in their that will increase your speed by 4 times faster :D

    roboform is free but whatch your pc it has glitches intact when you down load it"

    I had never herd of digixmas until now. I just installed it, and it looks great.

    Some of you guys don't get the concept of semi-automated submissions. When you manually submit all those copy and pastes you do are done for you. You just do the captcha and category.

    hello, some post here said that directory backlink may not account by G.

    Does anyone see their backlink counted by G?

    Exactly Aaron. You know how it easy on these forums though, the sheep sure do flock. People will just regurgitate answers they heard other people say instead of saying facts they know from personal experience, thats why 7 people in the row said the same non contributing one word sentence "I prefer manual over automatic"

    too much typing for image verification ... i prefer to pay to someone else to do that for me. Manual submission decidedly and definitely :)

    Really worthless. Useless and have no clue what was the idea of this project creator but for the ned users like we are it is practically useless. maybe he has some benefit of us but we just waste our time.

    All you people saying manual submission is the only way to go need to stop and think instead of regurgitating crap some other non-thinker posted in another thread many moons ago.

    First off we need to clear something up: this tool is not automatic. It is semi-automatic. It requires you to select the category you are submitting to, and it requires you to type in the captcha code if the directory has one. That has to be cleared up right away so that you realize this is not simply a spam tool. It is simply a very specialized web browser. Now that that's out of the way...

    Newsflash! Servers don't really care whether you have typed information in by hand, pasted it from your clipboard or used an xmlhttprequest to post the data. If the server recieving the data doesn't care, how the hell do you figure Google will care if I used IE or shwdoc.dll when submitting my site to a directory? I'm going to post an amazing bit of code for you (not part of DigiXMAS to my knowledge, but it can't be too far off):

    For Each Domain In SiteList
            PostData = "f_username=" & myEmail & "&f_password=" & myPassword & "&action=login&b7=submit"
            URL = "http://" & Domain & "/login.php"
            myMSXML.abort
            myMSXML.Open "POST", URL, False
            myMSXML.setRequestHeader "Content-Type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"
            myMSXML.send PostData
    Next

    Code (markup):
    The DigiXMAS tool is simply a web interface with controls built specifically for the purpose of submitting to directories.

    Sorry to rant, but when I see 20 people all bouncing around sounding the same false alarm, I'm reminded of chicken little.

    The free software demo you downloaded only submits to 150 PR 0 directories. To get the other 730 PR0-PR6 directories you must create an account. RTFM before you go bashing it.

    I used dixtmas and absolutely loved it. Can't afford to pay for the full list, but it's great.

    Haven't found anything which even comes close.

    Forgive me but your promoting a manual service in your signature - automated solutions are a threat to your income it would seem so its a bit hard for me to take your comment seriously. I downloaded the software and gave it a quick test drive. It would appear at least some of the "manual" services I have been paying for have been using this same software :) as my URL already appears to be in all of the default directories. I don't mind if you want to say that auto submissions cause problems but you have to back it up with some pretty solid logic so I am waiting to hear your reasons? And BTW I don't mind paying a person to use this software because I don't have time to enter the codes...
