i saw many guys who are offering directory submission service, and i am surprised how they do it?
i mean they take 25 $ for submission in 1000 directory, how they get and how much time they spent to make this money, its may be a very lenghty process..
OR do they use some kind of auto submitter software?
do you have any Idea how they do it?

Try to submit one site yourself to directories for 2 hrs and see how to how many you can submit. Multiply that with 3 assuming they have thrice the speed than yours being vastly experienced. Calculate the time and make your own judgement.

Another experiement you can do is---
Make two sites. ---submit one using software to 300 directories.

Please note down -the name of the directories--and then submit the othe site manually to the same directories. Please check the approval rates--

and you will be surprised to see the result.

Manual submissions seldom get rejected while sybmission by automated programs --well only god knows.:D The difference is just amazing--I hope I don't have to cite it in words:D

So you get the relevant result for what you pay --

I think they use form filler program instead of auto submit software. It is better.

Many people say that manual is way to go, but I think the time for manual submission is over, now it's time for semi-automated tools. There are dozens of semi-automated submission tools on the market that make webmaster's life better: huge time saving, but you still have full control over your submission. (Of course, our digiXMAS Submitter is one of the best :D ).
And about the cost $25 for 1000 directories: it's acceptable rate in many countries, even the submission work is done completely manually.

I personally submited my site manually, I done that each day, when new directory lunch on DP. takes around 5-8 directories a day. so in amonth sould be around 150-240 directories, keep doing that for another month then you get arround 500 directories. of course with high acceptancy, because of the quality submission.

hope thet give you some thoughts

I submit manually, several times a week, have been doing this for a year now.
Manually is the only way to go, but is does take effort and time

Let's compare manual submission and submission by semi-automated tools.

    For manual submission you need:
    - Browser for browsing the directories,
    - Excel for managing directory list,
    - Auto filling software for filling the forms (Of course, the autofiller can be plugged into browser).

    Then you have:
    - Open directory from Excel Sheet by browser,
    - Navigate to category,
    - Activate Auto filler,
    - Click submit,
    - Go back to Excel Sheet to record the submission result.
    - Repeat same steps for all directories.

The semi-automated tools offer the same: browsers, directory list manager and auto filller. But there is a difference: BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL IN ONE, A LOT OF USER'S MANIPULATION CAN SAVED.

    With semi-automated tool, you have:
    - Open directory list, the tool opens directories in multiple browsers,
    - Navigate to category,
    - The tool activates auto filling feature (with rotation of anchor text),
    - Click Submit,
    - Record the results and go to next directory (by one mouse click) .

THERE ARE THE SAME STEPS, BUT MUCH FASTER. Also, each tool offers additional features that makes your submission quality better than combination IE + Roboform + Excel.

So, please tell me why the manual submission is better than using tool?

I use form filter (firefox extension)

As for guys saying 25$ for 1000 directorys (they arent 1000 free directorys there but this is a nother thing) i think it's CRAP BULSHIT

I do webdirectory submissions for a lot of clients but with a higher price becouse i really do it Manualy

Exactly what difference is there with manual and using semi-automated software?

I'm no expert but can't see a difference with using the geezers semi-automated software up above, which works well or Form Filter, Roboform et al and saying it's manual submission. The software really does the same thing doesn't it? only faster.

In fact, they do the same thing. The difference is just that semi-automated software makes the submission much faster than complete manual submission. Also, many tools offer additional features to make your submission more effortlessly.

I am kind of leading in the same path of thinking concerning the semi-automatic submission tools. I cant understand why there is some people saying that "form filler" or "semi-automatic" -> which in fact are form fillers, are craps. I just dont understand why this would be crap. If it's crap or bullshit then It would be nice to have an argument or 2 along with the sentence of saying that it's bullshit or not good.

Cause as far as am concern, I cant see the difference between me filling in my name, title, description, metas, etc into the field and then hit the submit button and the form filler that does the exact same thing for me and leave me simply with the "hit" submit button to do ( and maybe selecting the appropriate category).
