I've got a couple of websites that have been around a while and am just recently starting to take an interest in SEO and pumping up my traffic. I'm curious to see what members here today think are good directory submission services and are there any to avoid at all costs. I recently submitted to one and have heard nothing from them. It has only been about 24 hours so I'll give them a little more time before I start to complain, but I'm starting to think they plan on taking my money and giving nothing in return. Thanks
there are many 'manual' directory submission services are actually done by program automatically. usually, your sites will be submitted to the wrong category, which will be rejected by the directory. so, the most important thing, I think, is asking for report samples before give $ to someone. check what directories they submit to, how many of them, in the report, does it tell you which site and category they submit to? do they provide screen shots or other things to prove they actually did the submission? also, check the service's rating, etc... Another important thing is: whether they update the list. Free directories change all the time, they could be free today, but no-more-free tomorrow. if the service seldom update their list, very possible, they don't see the change, thus, it can't be manual service. Another thing is: in submission, it is better to provide different title/description/keywords, etc.. bear
Thanks bear. I would not have thought about asking for a sample report. I'll keep that in mind if I look for someone else if this one never gets back to me.
