Directory Submission Services and Article Distribution Services?

    HI-

First post here, I'm still fairly new to the SEO world but would like your opinion whether these tactics are ok to use.

    1) I use a directory submission service that is very reasonable. Is there any danger of using a service like this? The communication is great, but I'm worried about being associated with too many directories that nobody uses. Am I ok here?

    2) I used a service called articlemarketer.com to distribute articles that I write. If you aren't familiar, it distributes articles to all the article directories out there. Again, any danger with using something like this?

Other than that, am I on the right track with my SEO techniques. I typically do onpage optimization, internal linking, etc. Build a lot of relevant link exchange partners, distribute articles, directory submissions, I buy relevant text links on 'authority' sites in my field, and then I typically will rent a few text links to give my site some strenth. Oh yeah, I try to provide awesome content too! :D

Anything else that I should be doing??

Sounds like you are doing great :D

You should not be facing any danger submitting to site and article directories. Most directories may not help in ranking but they won't do you any harm either.

The only suggestion I have for you is to keep up the good job and update your site more often to encourage frequent bots visit :)
