    How many people do you know who look into directories for information? Probably none. Surfers use Google and other leading search engines. More than 99% of directories are absolutely useless for ranking or for traffic. In fact, go ahead and submit your website to lots of them and watch your page rankings drop, along with getting zero traffic from those directories.

    Directory submission used to work years ago. Now it is at best useless, and at worst is harmful to your rankings.

    Yes, as per my experience directory submission is more beneficial for any website. Yes it is long process while approve your directory listing for site. But after approve it, it is shown on that site for lifetime. So it is beneficial for any site to do directory submission for getting the organic traffic.
